Footnoted.org turns 5!

Today marks the fifth anniversary of footnoted.org. So instead of our usual trawl through the filings, I’ve decided to finally answer the question that I get asked the most often by making a short video:

To celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary, I’ll be giving away something each day this week — a different subscription-based service that I’ve come to rely on over the past few years of working on the site. Today’s prize is a 1 year-subscription to 10KWizard, the subscription-service that I’ve been using for the past six years to scour SEC filings. If you’re already getting footnoted.org via email, you’re automatically entered. If not, you can subscribe via email or send your name and contact information here.

Thanks for your support over the past five years!

PS You know things are stagnant when CNBC has to gush all over Donny Trump’s little boy on Vegas real estate. Bugsy
    must be rolling over…’

Keep an eye on SGLP filings. They missed their 10-Q the other day and their parent, SemGroup LP, a private company is in Chapter 11 after about $3 billion in margin calls killed them on alleged oil hedges. .

On a personal note…are all those kids yours? I have eight (not counting the grandchildren) but the ages spread from 26 to 12. In any case, I implemented the child labor idea years ago. My eldest (who happens to be gifted in many ways), would whip out about 400 hand drawn picturesque envelopes around the holidays, naturally depicting a holiday theme. Former clients (I’m now semi-retired) still mention their appreciation whenever we meet up; and it’s been 15 years since!

So as you can see, I’m all for child labor!

Congrats on your blog’s fifth anniversary! I recently celebrated my fourth blogiversary earlier this month. I still remember that your blog was one of the few blogs I read before starting Fat Pitch Financials and was one of the inspirations for my site. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, everyone, for the warm congrats. I’ve had a lot of fun working on the site over the past 5 years and getting to know many of its readers in the process.

And, no, the kids aren’t mine (though the Simpsons sculptures in the video are). It’s actually pretty amazing how easy it is to get kids to volunteer by telling them they’ll be on YouTube :)
