This morning, we’re listening in on the House Financial Services Committee hearing on Compensation Structure and Systemic Risk.

Right now, most of the members are making opening statements and to say that these canned statements don’t instill a lot of confidence in government and our elected officials would be a mild understatement. Rep. Judy Biggert (R-IL) for example, just warned about the danger of regulating pay for secretaries and janitors. Another Rep. (whose name I didn’t catch) warned about stemming the entrepreneurial climate making it harder for future Bill Gates and Steve Jobs to get ahead. Sigh!
